Happy 4th of July

Monday, June 30, 2008

This nephew is going to make an amazing Boyfriend and Husband for some lucky girl one day. Joey doesn't really care to much about matching his clothes or grooming yet but, he has the biggest heart of any kid I know. I was having some pain over the weekend. I didn't want to ruin it for everyone else so, I just went along with the guys for the day. I started out with a jacket, purse, umbrella and sun glasses case...I am very low maintenance. About half way through the day, it really started warming up outside and I wanted to take some of my things back to the car. Joey was the only one to offer to carry my jacket and umbrella, I didn't even mention it. He carried my stuff around for me the rest of the day.

A MEME

The lovely Uber has tagged me to do a MEME, hopefully this will be interesting and not bore the hell out of you. If it does, too bad...this is about me.HA
1. The rules of the game get posted at the beginning of the post
2. Each player answers the questions about themselves in the post
3. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they've been tagged and asking them to read your blog
4. Let the person who tagged you know when you have posted your answers

Here we go:
1. WHAT WAS I DOING TEN YEARS AGO?
Ten years ago, we had just started our company in March, I hated my job. I would sit at my desk and literally bawl everyday because I would have about 5 stacks of papers on my desk that I had to enter into the computer. This was on top of filing, doing payables, auditing and any other menial task my Husband could come up with for me to do. Back then, it was just the two of us in the office so, we worked 14 hour days and had a two hour commute . Also, I got married that May so, on top of starting a business, I had to plan our wedding. I started taking an anti-depressant that April. Now I love my job, it is fabulous.....some days.

2. WHAT ARE FIVE THINGS ON MY LIST TO DO TODAY?
1. To do this MEME
2. Make a to do list for tomorrow
3. Get a facial
4. GOOGLE some stuff for my nephew
5. GOOGLE some things for me

3. IF YOU WHERE A VEGETABLE, WHAT WOULD YOU BE AND WHY?
That's a tough one, I would rather be a peach....sweet and juicy.HA OK, if I where a vegetable I think I would be a tomato....minus the salmanilia....we have a recall here in the U.S. Why, because tomatoes are juicy and my Sister is growing some in her garden this year and will give me all of them that I want. Tomatoes are my favorite vegetable, I refuse to eat a cheeseburger without tomatoes.
4. THINGS I WOULD DO IF I WHERE A BILLIONAIRE?
First off, I would pay off all of MY debts and then all of my Sisters debts...both of them. Then I would donate lots of the money to several different charities, mainly ones involving children and animals. After all of this, I would help my Best friends (2) pay off all of their debts. I would buy all of my nephews brand new cars when they turn 16 and pay for all of their college expenses. I would build a hospital that would turn no one away, regardless if they had insurance or not. I would start a center for homeless people that would teach them job skills and help them get jobs and an affordable place to live. I would do a ton of traveling....I have always wanted to visit to Ireland and Germany. I would hire a personal chef and assistant that would go everywhere with me and do all of my errands for me. I would be too busy builing the hospital, charitable work and getting everyone out of debt. Also, and buying stuff for my nephews.

5. THREE OF MY BAD HABITS
1) I love to clothes shop whether it is for me or someone I care about, I should probably be in some kind of Shoppers Anonymous support group.
2) I am very Bossy and hate being told NO....that really pisses me off
3) I have a hard time forgiving ...once someone crosses me, I cut them out of my life forever

6. FIVE PLACES I HAVE LIVED? Does anyone really care??
1) Blue Springs,MO
2) Oak Grove,MO
3) Independence,MO
4) Lee's Summit,MO
5) Grain Valley,MO

7. FIVE JOBS I HAVE HAD?
1) Like Uber, my favorite job was being a waitress....I worked in a bar and had my regular customers that would sit at the bar until a seat opened up in my section ( even though seats where ope nin other sections). Guys where the best, I could bump them in the back of the head with my drink tray, spill beer on them, bring them the wrong beer, forget their names as long as I didn't forget to bring them a drink and smile at them.
2) I worked at my Dad's office all through high school and some of college. These two really old ladies worked for him and they didn't really care what the hell I did as long as I picked up lunch for them everyday. I would leave for a couple of hours every day and go tanning across the street, maybe go to the mall, lunch with a friend or whatever. As long as I brought back some lunch or snacks for them, they never EVER told my Dad on me. Of course, I would never do any of that stuff now, I am way to mature.HA
3) I used to babysit the boy across the street from us when his parents would go out on the weekends....I was about 15 and I think the boy was about 7. I would let him stay up until about 1:30 am because his parents always got home around 2:30am. We would eat pizza, play games and watch TV. I loved that job, I saw the boy about three years ago.
4) The summer of my Sophmore year, I worked at a Dairy Queen that my good friends Grandparents owned. I am ashamed to admit that all of the kids that worked there took ice cream home everynight. I do not mean one item, I am talking about a bag of ice cream every night. Needless to say, the store closed about a year later.
5) Secretary at one of my Uncles offices.......it was pretty much the same as when I worked at my Dad's office. My Uncle played golf everyday, all day long or went fishing with his buddies. I think he only came in two times the whole summer. Good times

8. HOW DID YOU COME TO NAME YOUR BLOG?
My family calls me QueenAnn (that was the name of my first blog but, I had a nasty stalker so I closed it down). My next obvious choice was QueenAnnie (My close friends and family all call me Annie).

Porn for Mom's 60th Birthday

My Mom specifically asked for this designer bag and a blanket, that I had to special order, for her birthday. Also, she wanted some body gels or oils, something that smelled really good.
So I stopped by Priscilla's and got her a few extra things for the bag. She is the kind of person that has to unwrap and then hold up her gift so that everyone can ohh and ahh over it for a few seconds. After they are all done admiring the bag, I am going to tell her that the goods that she really wanted are inside the black bag. As soon as she takes out the Porn Star bag, thinking that it is filled with those lotions and oils that she asked me for, she will start screaching "Ann Marie, I cannot believe that you bought me porn, oh my God." My Aunts will definitely be ahhing over the Playgirl magazine. This bag contains the Playgirl, Penis tape, Body Candy and Karma Sutra oil and a keychain that says, "Being Sexy Is a Hard Job but, Someone Has To Do It. Just thinking about the look on my Mom's face when she started pulling all of this stuff out of the bag made me laugh so hard that the sales lady asked me if I was alright. Of course, I got some things for myself. Just FYI: My Sister is on vacation this week and I have been here by myself for most of the last two days so, I am bored. I am trying to do my job and keep up with hers. I thought I would get in a little extra blog time since no one is here to keep tabs on me.HA

Appreciating My Family

I just spent the last four hours with my family for my 10 yr old nephew's birthday party. I have not had that much fun in, I do not know when. I realized on my drive home just how much I really miss all of them and how wonderful they all are. I could not wait to go to college and get as far away from my family as possible. So now, I find it very ironic that all I want to do is move back home to be closer to them. My youngest Sister and I are the most alike and whenever we are together, we always do something to get everyone stirred up. After all of the guys left, we started comparing breast size with our other Sister, I won of course.HA My youngest Sister is the best joke teller and she had me laughing so hard that I thought I was going to pee my pants. Do not even get me started on when all of us girls go out together, my Sister and I get totally out of control. Even though I am older, she really looks out for me and is always there for me. She knows about all of my female problems so before I left her house tonight, she hooked me up with some pain medication. I now have a mini pharmacy in my purse. I hope to God that I do not get pulled over by the police for anything stupid like a traffic violation. If the police searched my purse, I would definitely go to jail for drug trafficking. Aside from passing out her perscribed meds, she is a fabulous Sister. I know I probably take my family for granted but, it is times like tonight when I feel so lucky to have them. Even though we all can be a bit disfunctional when we all get together, I would not trade a second of the time I get to spend with them. I will actually get to spend quite a bit of time with my family this weekend. Saturday we are all going to watch my cousin Nick race and then Sunday , we are having a surprise 60th birthday party for my Mom. We almost had to ruin the surprise because she told my Sister that she is busy on Sunday and would not be around. Being the golden child, I easily guilted her into going to my Aunts for a cookout on Sunday.

The Cornhuskers

My Sister and I started off on our trip feeling pretty cocky about ourselves. That was until we realized that the navigational system was giving us directions for the Pennsylvania area not the Midwest. After about half an hour, we where on track and headed for the highway. My Sister drove for the first couple of hours, everything was going really well until she missed our exit at 2 hwy. Instead of turning off at 2 hwy and heading west, she just kept on driving North through Iowa. I was listening to my Ipod and not really paying attention. I looked up and realized that the scenery didn't look anything like it did last year and calmly told her that she was going in the wrong direction. She freaked out and started yelling and said it was all my fault because I wasn't helping her navigate. I called her a psycho and told her to just shut the hell up. We finally found and exit and got turned around. We gassed up, switched drivers and headed to Lincoln. Instead of stopping in Lincoln, I decided that we should go on ahead to Kearney. We got there within five hours of leaving home. We where making excellent time. We went to the cemetary and then decided to have an early dinner. We drove around town looking for a restaurant but couldn't agree on anything. I wanted to eat at Red Lobster but, Lorie despies sea food. So, we compromised, I told her to order chicken and we ate at Red Lobster. We finally made it to Lincoln and checked into our hotel. Little did we know that a nut was rooming in the town home right next to us. We freshened up and decided to go to a bookstore, wash the car and get some wine(for me). After we got the wine, we headed back to the townhouse. I immediately started drinking while Lorie watched some TV. I started feeling really relaxed and decided to go to bed with the full intention of sleeping in the next morning. I was about to have a very rude awakening at 6am. I was in a deep sleep all snuggeld up to my pillow with my blanket wrapped all snug around me. All of a sudden I hear BAM,BAM,BAM,BAM and then "You had better get your ass out here you F-ing dumbass".I came out of my room at the same time my Sister was walking down the hall towards the front door. We looked at each other like "what the hell?" Lorie opened the door to see what was going on and this lady started yelling at her. She shut the door and we went back to bed. The hotel manager moved us to a different area of the hotel later that morning. The gal ended up getting evicted because she had an altercation with her Husband at around 3am in the hotel lobby and other guests had complained about her too. We did have a great Saturday sightseeing and shopping. I had a strange feeling all day though, I did not want to spend the night there again. I took a shower at 7pm and bribed my Sister with, "If we leave now, I will do all of the driving home." She agreed and we got out of there. We are going back again next year of course.....different hotel though. I forgot to mention that Cornhuskers are Nebraska's football team. I loved watching sports with my Dad, he was a very manly man but also a little dramatic...just a little. Everytime the Huskers would play, my Dad would yell out "Go big Red" really loud for the entire game.

Spammed

I have been receiving e-mails from a guy that started out as friendly banter but have turned into creepy requests. I received a disturbing e-mail from him yesterday asking me to either post scantily clad pics of myself on my blog or I could just e-mail them to him directly. Our IT person was out of the office all day yesterday so, I just had to ignore all 6 of the e-mails that I got from him. Nick is back in the office today and has already spammed the guy. Hopefully, this will be the end of my dealings with him.
